Victory For Mercito Gesta

Photo Credit:  Janelle Macasadia & Duenas Aris GESTA VS. RIOVALLE PHOTOS Mercito “No Mercy” Gesta  has been waiting for over a year and four months to get back in the ring to prove to the boxing world that he belongs in this sport!  He definitely proved it Friday night at the Ringside at Del Mar boxing show when he defeated Edgar “Basuras” Riovalle (37-18-2, 26 KOs) from Mexico City in front of a sell-out crowd.  The boxing venue was held at the Del Mar Fairgrounds and was promoted by Paco Presents in association with A&T Gym, Don Chargin and Jorge Marron Promotions, and San Diego-based Barron Entertainment. From the start of the fight, Mercito “No Mercy” Gesta looked sharp, determined, and focused, moving side to side with great head movements.  Mercito used his boxing skills displaying his speed, combinations, and powerful body shoots on both sides of Edgar Riovalle.  Mercito’s defense was very impressive as his technique was very polished and precise.  As Mercito took control of the fight, he knocked down Edgar in the 8th round with powerful body shots.  Though Edgar was able to beat the count and rise to his feet, the determined Mercito charged back and threw an amazing 15 continuous shots prompting Edgar’s corner to throw in the towel. Back on the victory path!!!  After the fight, Mercito stated, “I am so happy to be back in the ring.  I felt so good in there and I felt strong.”  Mercito’s boxing skills were clearly displayed this night, as his training with his Father and Manager Anecito Gesta, Sr. definitely paid off.  “My father and I worked hard on my technique and we followed our plan perfectly”, Mercito happily stated. Mercito “No Mercy” Gesta is BACK and very thankful for the opportunity.  As Mercito stated, “I want to thank Robert Diaz (Golden Boy Promotions), Paco Presents, Don Chargin and Jorge Marron, Gabriel Barron, and all the sponsors at Ringside at Del Mar for the opportunity tonight.  Thanks for all the support.” Undercard results: Ruiz UD4 Venegas Smalls UD4 Haigood Ramos UD4 Silva Ceballos TKO3 Reynolds 2:21 Hood SD4 Gesta (38-37, 38-36,...
