Mercito “No Mercy” Gesta is back stronger than ever before!! Watch the return of main event, Mercito “No Mercy” Gesta back in action this April 11th, 2014 at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. Opponent is yet to be announced. “I’m so excited to be fighting here in San Diego!! I wanted my comeback fight to be here in front of my hometown fans….they have been waiting for me, and now I’m here”, as stated by Mercito Gesta. It has been just over a year since Mercito’s last bout, fighting undercard for Manny Pacquiao vs.Juan Manuel Marquez bout IV at the MGM Grand Hotel, Las Vegas Nevada. Shortly after Mercito’s fight with Miguel Vazquez, Mercito took a positive break from his love of boxing to visit his family, relatives, and long-time friends in Mandaue Cebu, Philippines. It was there in Cebu that Mercito had a lot of time to reflect about what happened during his fight against Miguel Vazquez. “It was the big show, my fight was under the biggest boxing venue and legendary boxing names in the world. I understand my loss; I’ve matured through it and feel it was a good learning experience for me. I give credit to Miguel Vazquez as he fought a great fight. I am thankful that I was given the opportunity to fight for a championship belt, and I will never forget that experience. I have learned a lot, and No Mercy is coming back even stronger.” After the well-deserved time off, Mercito returned from the Philippines to prepare for his next opponent Ajose Olusegun (31-2) which was scheduled for July 19th, 2013 on ESPN2 Friday Night fights. However, during Mercito’s training in June 2013, he was injured in the ring while sparring in his adopted hometown of San Diego. Mercito’s injury was an unexpected setback cancelling his fight against Ajose Olusegun. “I felt really bad, as I wanted to come back for my fans and my family here, and for my fans in the Philippines”, Mercito calmly stated. Even after his injury, Mercito remained focused and determined to move forward in his boxing career. The summer of 2013 was a great time for recovery both physically and mentally for Mercito. He spent many weeks and months strengthening his injury. After several discussions with his family and key figures in his boxing career, Mercito decided to revamp his team. Assigning his father Anecito Gesta, Sr. as his Head Trainer and Manager, mother Mercedes Gesta as his Nutritionist, brother Anecito “DonDon” Gesta, Jr. as his new cut man, Obie Sibug as his corner man, Henry Zulueta as his Assistant Trainer, Chris Almazan his Videographer, Duenas Aris his Photographer, and Neil Macasadia his Team Advisor. “With this New Team Gesta, I have my family and close friends that I feel comfortable with….”, Mercito explained. As the New Team Gesta was formed, Mercito entrusted his Team Advisor Neil Macasadia to work...

Photo Credit: bStunt It was a nice night in Del Mar, CA where Anecito “DonDon” Gesta (2-1) made his first Pro-USA Debut against Pablo Capul (6-11-0, 4 KOs) at the Bing Crosby Hall at the Del Mar Fairgrounds in California. With a packed house, and a formidable cheering section for Anecito “DonDon” Gesta, Anecito excited the crowd as he approached the ring for introductions. By his side were his older brother, Mercito “No Mercy” Gesta, father Anecito Gesta, Sr., and cutman Stephen Lunas. During the fight, Anecito “DonDon” Gesta was poised, counter-punched real efficiently, and landed more powerful punches than his opponent Pablo Capul. However, after 4-Rounds of heart and determination by Anecito “DonDon” Gesta, the judges did not see the same fight as everyone in the building witnessed. Highway robbery at its best!! Overall, the fans and supporters knew who really won the fight, and we will continually support Anecito “DonDon” Gesta. Thank you everyone!!
